Steamed Crab

Serving:  2 - 4 person

Preparation and cooking time: 20 minutes


2 pieces Mud Crabs (Cut and Cleaned)​

3 egg white mix with sugar and salt to your preference 

1 teaspoon of sesame oil

1 stalk of scallions, finely chopped

Dipping Sauce (optional)

1) Ginger and vinegar

Ginger, sliced into very thin matchsticks
1 tbsp Chin Kiang Vinegar (or any rice vinegar you prefer)

2) Soy Sauce



STEP 1: Boil the water in a large steamer. 

STEP 2:  Place crab into a large dish that will fit into the steamer.

STEP 3: When water is boiled, place the dish into the steamer, be careful of the hot steam. 

STEP 4: Steam for 10 minutes. Remove the dish from the steamer.

STEP 5: Mix and pour in the egg white with the liquid from the steamed crab and steam for another 4 minutes.

STEP 6: Sprinkle scallions and sesame oil to serve.


STEP 7: Enjoy! 


We Crabee are a big fan of seafood especially crabs. However, we noticed that many times, restaurants serve crabs that are no longer fresh and charge a premium price for it. You might be thinking now "but I see the crabs swimming in the fish tanks when I'm at the restaurants, how are they not fresh?"
